Municipal Police Academy - 2026 Mandatory In-Service Training (MIST)

Overview

ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ delivers the MPOETC-approved, continuing education required annually for certified municipal police officers in Pennsylvania (Act 180). 2026 courses differ from 2025.

  • Hours:Ìý12 total (four courses × three hours each)
  • Audience:ÌýSworn, active-duty municipal officers and county detectives
  • Delivery:ÌýIn-personÌý´Ç²Ô±ô²â

Locations: Not all sessions are held at the Police Academy. When sessions are at the academy, please use the front lot and enter through the front doors at 5999 State Rt. 89, North East, PA 16428.

Course Requirements

The following courses are required:

  • 26-001: Legal Updates
  • 26-002: Crisis Intervention Training

The following courses are optional:

  • 26-003: Trauma Informed Policing
  • 26-004: Responding to Child Abuse Allegations
